The Beatles Stereo Stereo CD Set

The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set was made available in September of ‘09 it instantly became the ultimate standard for The Beatles classic albums. These stereo mixes sound far superior to the old discs from the 80s. When comparing these new remasters to the old compact discs it’s like the old discs are under a pile of old blankets while the new CDs sound very clear so that all of the vocals and instrumentation push through the mixes instead of being muffled.
The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set isn’t the only Beatles box set released in September 2009 but it has been the biggest seller since it can be appreciated by the widest range of fans. The Remastered Beatles in Mono Box Set is excellent too but it appeals more to Beatles purists who need to listen to the mono mixes (because that’s how most fans in the 1960s heard this music) than to the average fan. While I will agree with the “purists” that there are some songs that sound better in mono than in stereo (particularly quite a few of the pre Peper songs) overall I believe the stereo CD set does sound best.
The fab thing about The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set is that it lets you to acquire The Beatles complete 1962-1970 catalog with just one order and when one considers the extremely high quality of nearly all of their albums, it makes sense to buy al of the albums at once rather than just picking up some and then getting more later.
As well as the awesome ground breaking music included in this set there are some groovy visual bits, most obviously the DVD with 13 mini documentaries on it (one for each studio album.) Along with the documentary DVD there are also extended liner notes for every album (there is some excellent information in these notes, especially for fans that are new to The Beatles) and some great unpublished pictures.
I’m such a huge fan of The Beatles that I’ve purchased (or am planning on getting) The Beatles in Stereo Box, The Beatles Mono Box, The Beatles Apple USB Flash Drive, and The Beatles Rock Band Video Game. But if I had to pick only one of these things, it would have to be the stereo box set because it’s the best representation of The Beatles music and of course, it’s their classic albums that is the most important.
