Australia has many beautiful beaches providing a surfers’ and swimmers’ paradise. There are sting rays and sharks everywhere, so only swim in marked areas. A visit to the Great Barrier Reef will provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity don’t leave this out of your itinerary if you can help it.

Most States in Australia offer free camping sites, usually with a time limit of between 24 and 48 hours. These sites have only the very basic amenities such as toilets and picnic tables, but provide backpackers or traveling campers a stopover that costs them absolutely nothing. The National Parks also provide extremely affordable camping areas, albeit with limited facilities.

You will get to see informal, friendly atmospheres, as well as natural beauty. Winters are harsh, so don’t forget your sunscreen.
