Is Price Putting People Off Car Buying?

The costs of new cars are rising very rapidly indeed and when a survey was conducted, half the people that were asked said the price would stop them from getting a new car. Are there many more costs coming into play this year and are they actually going to stop people from getting a new car?
Emission Tax
Soon to come into play is the emission tax which actually adds up nearly £1,000 extra onto your car if you are after one of the models that guzzles up more fuel than a cross between a Jumbo Jet and a Mission to Mars. Safety should be in cars like the Audi Q5 and Audi TT Coupe. This actually to me almost seems like a fair tax and although the government are pretending to do it for the right reasons, we know it is simply down to the fact they are wanting more money as they are all in debt from the recession.
Even in the recession last year there were many companies that put up their price. Ford put their prices up a massive four times last year increasing the price of the Fiesta by another £2,500 while other companies such as SEAT and Renault put their prices up twice during the year. Why are companies wondering why people are not buying from them, it is so obvious?
On the plus side you can still get a new Audi for a reasonably good price so take into consideration that some manufacturers are a lot better than others. The fact is, showrooms rip people off, look around on the internet for the best deals, you are sure to find prices a lot cheaper.
So don’t scrap the idea of getting a new car altogether, just look around!
