Maslows hierarchy of needs is one of the best things to follow here as it shows in level two of the hierarchy that level two is comfort which is connected to safety. If you do not have insurances that please your workers then they are going to feel unsafe which is going to leave them feeling very demotivated which could possibly show in the form of less work being completed. Having insurance in the business, especially small business insurance, not only makes the people who work for it that bit happier it also promotes a better relationship between management and everyone below. There are so many companies that struggle to have the relationship that is worthwhile having between the employers and the employees. Giving out the right insurances is giving back something to the employees for all their hard work. As well as this if you really dont trust your own employees which lets be honest a lot of people dont, it covers everything including theft if one of your own workers was to steal from you.
Insurances do not just cover the workers they also cover things like glass breakage or machinery break downs and even computer repairs for when the system goes down.
Rather than just having the employers liability compulsory insurance which of course you have to have you can also have other insurances taken out that can benefit both you as the employer as well as the employees too, there are quite literally limitless options so you can personally pick which ones are going to be best for your business. If your employeers are feeling that bit more safer then that is one less worry they have which in turn makes them work harder.
Even if you are in a small factory or office getting office insurance could be the step you need in sending those employees up the hierarchy of needs.
